After over 15 years at the venue Leye D Johns was informed by the management they felt that his shows would now not fit in with the new rebranding of Libertys Hotel to a Shearings Bay Hotel. This site is a tribute to some great times between 1994-2010 when a number of awards were won by the team - the venue flourished with capacity crowds every week and over £250,000 was raised for various charities.
You'll also be able to see what Leye and the team are up to now - with a number of new and exciting shows planned for this year and beyond.

Whatever has happened at The Alabama, it's important the people that made the place are thanked! To ALL the dancers, artists, customers and staff over the years at the place - a massive thank you for being part of one of Blackpool's success stories.
'It's been sad that through no fault of our own we couldn't say goodbye to the customers and staff - we were never given the opportunity unfortunately. But we made some lifelong friends in that little room! We're looking forward to a bit of time out, and to return in the summer with even bigger and better shows!'

Leye D Johns was living in Tenerife and was persuaded by Norman Robinson to move to Blackpool to head up their vegas style floor shows. He has won over 10 awards with the venue including 'Entertainment Venue of the Year', 'Hotel Of The Year', 'Individual Contribution To Tourism' amongst the accolades received.
The shows featured fantastic fast paced floor shows featuring stunning dancers in spectacular custumes joined by the area's best vocalists. All headed by the much loved Leye D Johns - the shows are now moving to new venues and have an exciting new direction!
In 2009, respected industry newspaper 'The Stage' said 'Leye D Johns has been at the helm for all 15 years of the venue’s history, but somehow he is as fresh and as funny now as when the paint was still wet.'
Shearings Holidays purchased the hotel in 2004 and rebranded it as a 'Bay Hotel' in 2010 when Leye's style of entertainment was not seen as part of their future strategy. The venue is still open and operating - you can check their official website out here
From November 25th - December 19th one of Blackpool's best known venues will be taken over by Leye D Johns, Darren Coulton, The Thunder Showgirls and our vocalists Jimmy Love, Phil Jefferies, Diane Lee Carol and Jamie Rae.
